GEOFF BROWN ANNOUNCES INTENTION TO DONATE TO TRUST

Geoff Brown is selling his shareholding in the Football Club and will donate the net proceeds to The St Johnstone Community Trust.

On 9th December 2022,  Geoff Brown announced he is looking to sell his shareholding in St Johnstone Football Club with a view to handing the running of the club over when the sale is complete. Incredibly, he further announced it is his intention the net proceeds from the sale of his shareholding will be put towards building a community hub for The St Johnstone Community Trust, for the benefit of the football club and the local community.

The Board and staff of Saints in the Community are delighted to see Geoff's announcement of his intention to make a donation to the Community Trust. This is exciting news; we thank and are very grateful and look forward to discussing his intentions in more detail.

CEO Francis Smith said: “We would like to extend a big thank you to Geoff for the generosity he has shown towards the Community Trust. With our new strategy expected to be launched in the coming months, this donation will help us with our vision to drive our work forward and build a social home which will serve the whole community.”

This comes on the heels of this week’s announcement that Steve Brown and Charlie Fraser will be stepping down from the Club Board in May. Both have been tremendous supporters of Saints in the Community since its inception, and we would like to take this opportunity to recognise and acknowledge their significant contribution to our success.

Chairman Roddy Ross added: “The Board and team of staff have big ambitions, and this donation would allow us to drive our projects forward and increase our capacity across the region to serve the wider community. Football is powerful and can enrich the lives of people in so many different ways. With Geoff’s support, we look forward to building upon our existing outreach even further.”
