FURTHER STAR AWARDS SUCCESS

Saints in the Community win Commitment to Community Award and Business Development Manager is highly commended.

Friday, November 24th, brought around the Annual Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards for 2023, an event which seeks to honour the exceptional accomplishments of individuals and businesses throughout Perthshire!

Saints in the Community exists to meet local community need and we were delighted to have our work recognised and be shortlisted in the Commitment to the Community, The Business Growth & Employee of the Year categories! Joined by more than 400 individuals from a range of local businesses and organisations, our team headed to Crieff Hydro and enjoyed an exceptional evening which provided a sit down three-course meal prior to the main event… the Award announcements!

Our Business Development Manager, Rebekah Penman, was shortlisted for the Employee of the Year award, highlighting the excellent work Rebekah brings to the Trust on a daily basis to support the organisation and her colleagues to thrive. Rebekah was announced as a Highly Commended runner up and invited on stage to receive a framed certificate!

Last year was an incredibly special year for the team at Saints in the Community as we had the honour of winning the ‘Commitment to the Community’ Business Award in 2022. We were incredibly grateful to have our work recognised for a second year in a row and are delighted to share the Community Trust won the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Commitment to the Community Award in 2023 too! Francis, Danny, Niamh and our Trustee, Charlie Fraser, were invited on stage to receive the award.

“It’s amazing to be recognised by the Chamber and judging panels for the work we do across Perth & Kinross. To win this award for a second-year running is testament to the work of the team and the hours they put in to change lives across the county. We could not deliver what we do without our partners, volunteers and of course, you. This award is for all of you. We will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do and commit ourselves to supporting the community” – Francis Smith, Trust CEO.

Saints in the Community are committed to building stronger communities through sport, education, and wellbeing to develop healthier, happier, and successful people throughout Perth & Kinross and we are delighted to have our work highlighted again in 2023.

With a fresh strategic direction this year and keeping the people of Perth & Kinross at the forefront of our ‘why’, we have organically, internally and strategically grown which was recognised in the Business Growth category. As a charity, our growth does not convert into increased profit margins. Instead, our growth dictates a higher financial investment into the Perth & Kinross community which translates to increased services for children, young people and adults, a physically and mentally healthier community, and an increase in job roles. We were delighted to feature as a finalist and we extend our warmest congratulations to our Corporate Sponsor, Sidey, who won the Award this year!

A sincere congratulations to all of the award winners throughout the night; it was very special to share the evening with such passionate, innovative and welcoming businesses.
