Saints in the Community are delighted to announce we have been shortlisted in the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards 2023.

On Friday, 20th October, the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce unveiled the finalists for each category of their awards, an event which seeks to honour the exceptional accomplishments of individuals and businesses throughout Perthshire. Saints in the Community exists to meet local community needs and we are incredibly grateful to have our work recognised and be shortlisted in two categories:

  • Business Growth award
  • Commitment to the Community award

The Business Growth award focuses on highlighting organisations within Perthshire who are excelling in sustaining growth and profitability. With a new strategic direction and keeping the people of Perth & Kinross at the forefront of our ‘why’, we have organically, internally and strategically grown. Importantly, as a charity, our growth converts into higher financial investment into the Perth & Kinross community which translates to increased services for children, young people and adults, a physically and mentally healthier community, and an increase in job roles.

The Commitment to the Community award highlights organisations across Perthshire who aim to make a difference to the community in which they operate within. Last year was incredibly special for the team at Saints in the Community as we were not only shortlisted but had the honour of winning the Commitment to the Community Business Award in 2022 at the Crieff Hydro event!

While we are widely recognised for providing children with footballing opportunities, our commitment to the community extends far beyond the pitch. Saints in the Community are dedicated to addressing the needs of our local community including:

  • free meals & childcare
  • mental health & neurodiverse support
  • isolation & loneliness support
  • education in schools
  • sporting opportunities for all

Our Business Development Manager, Rebekah Penman, has also been shortlisted in the Employee of the Year category.

We would like to send best wishes to our fellow finalists and look forward to joining them at the awards night. The full list of nominees can be found here.

Winners will be announced at a glittering black-tie dinner at Crieff Hydro on Friday, 24th November. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
