The first fixtures of the day for the Community squad saw the squad facing top of the league, Edinburgh Street Soccer. The game proved to be a tough challenge, with the Edinburgh side only losing one of their last 6 fixtures, the Community squad would battle well but started the day with a 3-0 loss.
Looking to bounce back from their early defeat, the Community squad geared up for a fixture against the NL Kickstart reds! The Saints in the Community squad played well throughout the match, ultimately falling short, picking up a 2-0 loss. The 3rd fixture of the day saw the Community squad facing up against Real Richmond who found themselves one place above the squad prior to the 2nd round of fixtures in what promised to be a tight affair. The game was close throughout with both teams looking to stay ahead in the table, with the Community squad narrowly losing the game 1-0.
Next up for the Community squad were Tayside rivals Dundee United. Looking to get their first points of the day on the board, the squad produced a great performance, picking up a deserved 3-1 victory with Garry L, Steven & Ryan all on the scoresheet!
The final round of fixtures for the Saints in the Community team saw them face up against hosts, Stenhousemuir, as both teams looked to end the 2nd round of fixtures on a positive note. It would be another great performance from the Community squad, who went into the game brimming with confidence after their recent win. This confidence benefitted them massively, going on to beat Stenhousemuir 3-0 with Mark, Steven & Charles picking up the goals!
The squad can be proud of their performances throughout the day with everyone in the squad working very hard in what was a long day! We look forward to seeing how the squad gets on in their next round of fixtures!
